Frozen

After the fantastic successes of Tangled and Wreck-it-Ralph, Disney have done it again. Frozen, inspired by Hans Christian Anderson's "The Snow Queen", may just be the Christmas film of 2013.
Packed full of colourful characters, sing-a-long songs and amazing animation, this is the perfect film for all the family. Frozen follows the story of two sisters, Anna and Elsa. Unbeknownst to Anna, Elsa has power over the ice and snow, but tries to hide it. When her secret is discovered by all, Anna must go after her to lift the spell she put upon their land, but can they repair their broken relationship?
This heartwarming tale of two sisters is visually stunning, with beautiful landscapes filled with snow-capped mountains and swirling blizzards, and wonderful characters that provide the film with comedy and charm. Anna, our herione, gives a sense of relatability with her awkward clumsiness, and becomes an extremely loveable addition to Disney's ever-growing crew of princesses.
By contrast, Anna's sister, Elsa, is a tormented individual who has spent her life hiding away from others to hide her gift. This sadness and longing for freedom that Elsa experiences creates a lot of sympathy for Anna's elder sister, and just serves to add to the superb crowd of characters, and makes the film  sparkle with true magic.
Frozen is an emotional rollercoaster, full of life, and makes the audience want to laugh, smile and cry. The lively songs featured throughout the film give a great sing-a-long experience that people of all ages will enjoy. In addition to this, there is an endless stream of jokes that will keep you entertained through the entire movie. Most of these are due to Olaf, a talking snowman who's aim is to finally experience summer, and is blissfully unaware of what will happen to him should he succeed.

On the whole Frozen is a beautiful tale about family, full of laughter and song. The perfect Christmas film for the whole family to enjoy.     5/5
